Mexican Youth Night
On Friday, September the 17th, we had our usual Youth night. But this night was different. Not only did we decide to celebrate once again the day of Love and Friendship with our Youth but this night we also had a theme: Mexican Night. Mariangela, Bridgette (missionary Blake Young’s wife), and a couple other girls from our church prepared a Mexican meal for all of us to enjoy. And guess what? This was the first time our youth had heard of enchiladas! Believe it or not, our food here in Colombia is nothing like Mexican food, so that intrigued our people. That night, the Lord blessed us with five new visitors who were able to hear about God!
Valentines day
September is very important and highly anticipated in Colombia. On this month we celebrate something called “Amor y Amistad” which means Love and Friendship. We thank the Lord for allowing us to celebrate this special month with our church. On the 19th, we had a special meal for our church in between the morning and evening services. In the photo you will see Lechona, a stuffed roasted pig, which is usually served on special occasions. It was quite encouraging to see our people invite their friends and family on this special day. We loved seeing them bring people they care about to hear about our wonderful Savior.
Birthday Celebrations and Covid
At the end of every month we celebrate the fact that God gives our people another year of life. It has been a tough couple of years because of many people passing away and many people sick with COVID. As I write you this letter, we are currently in the middle of another COVID outbreak. We have some people in the hospitals fighting for their lives and also some people recuperating at their homes. We thank God for you and ask for your prayers during these times. We know God will help us come out of this one too.
