MINISTRY AMIDST A STRICTER LOCKDOWN
We thought quarantine in Colombia would be over by July 15th, but the amount of cases per day have risen exponentially. Recently the new number of new cases per day is close to 9,000. In response to this, the government has decided to set new rules in place. We now are under the strictest lockdown since it all started in March. We are only allowed to leave the house one day a week. This includes, grocery runs, paying the bills, and any other activity that would be necessary. The past 4 days nobody was allowed to leave their homes, not even to purchase necessities. Only essential people like Hospital workers, police and very few others were permitted to go out. Our city of more than 4 million people is looking a bit more like a ghost city. This lockdown will continue indefinitely. Lord willing the cases will go down, and the harsh restrictions will be lifted so we can get
back to doing ministry the way we know how.
As we patiently wait, the ministry continues to push forward. Phone calls, online services, prayers, and daily devotionals have been tools the Lord has given us to lead the flock during this difficult season. We are also doing our best to be able to reach out to the community with the Gospel and grocery bags to those in need. These four months in lockdown have been a challenge. But we have placed all of our hope in God’s omnipotent hand. We know His work will continue no matter what. Please continue in prayer for the ministry here. It is not our ministry, but His ministry. We know He has a plan to finish the good work that He has started in Colombia, this encourages us daily to trust fully in Him! We are also praying for you all back in the States.
